Rockin’ the Bow Valley

July 10th, 2009 by Andrew
Yet another fine day of climbing in the Bow Valley. Today we were lucky to beat the weather and sneak a route in on Mount Yamnuska. Six brave soldiers from the British Army spent the last two days learning and refining the skills that are necessary to tackling such a task.

The best thing about this program is that four of them had never put on a harness before. Once the fundamentals of rock climbing were dialed, we were off to soar the mighty Yamnuska!… There was anxiety on their faces as Erica, Stevie B. and myself (their guides) departed from the ground to charge up the rock and set the ropes on the first pitch. But as the pitches added up and the ground became further away from our feet, enjoyment and laughter soon became the norm. What a great day at work! If you have ever thought of wanting to do the same, come and sign up on one of our rock programs! You will not be disappointed!
